From Alignment to Delivery: WCF’s Asia-Pacific Launch

The World Climate Session: Tokyo is a high-level, invitation-only roundtable convened by the World Climate Foundation (WCF). This session marks WCF’s first strategic presence in Asia-Pacific, launching a long-term regional engagement to advance climate and nature action.

Bringing together senior leaders in finance, policy, industry, and civil society, the roundtable translates global climate and biodiversity commitments into practical, investable pathways. It also lays the foundation for WCF’s five-year Asia-Pacific network strategy, setting the tone for future engagements and showcasing the Foundation’s ability to drive measurable impact.

Why Tokyo? Why Now?

Asia-Pacific is a critical region for sustainable finance, climate resilience, and biodiversity protection. As global commitments move from ambition to implementation, this inaugural WCF engagement positions Asia strategically within the global climate and nature delivery architecture.

Tokyo serves as the launching point to demonstrate WCF’s approach to:

Coalition Building:

Connecting public, private, and civil society actors.

Capital Mobilisation:

Unlocking finance for climate and nature initiatives.

Long-Term Impact:

Establishing measurable outcomes that guide future action.

Moderated Dialogue:

Mobilising Capital for Nature: Positioning Asia within the Global Climate and Nature Delivery Architecture

This high-level roundtable will examine how Asia can play a defining role in the next phase of global climate and biodiversity implementation. As global frameworks under the Paris Agreement and the Global Biodiversity Framework move from ambition to execution, the region has a unique opportunity to shape how capital is mobilised, deployed, and governed across emerging and developed markets alike.

The discussion will focus on Asia’s role within this delivery phase — specifically how regional financial institutions, policymakers, development actors, and industry leaders can better coordinate to mobilise capital at scale and translate global commitments into structured, investable pathways. Emphasis will be placed on strengthening sustainable finance architecture, aligning public and private capital, and developing credible pipelines that integrate climate and nature considerations into long-term investment strategies.

Followed by a private networking reception for participants

The Activation Stage

In WCF’s sequenced journey, Tokyo represents the Activation phase and the start of our Asia-Pacific presence.

As part of this invitation-only session, you’ll join a curated group of leaders to help shape regional pathways and accelerate global climate and nature delivery. Together, we will:

Turn Alignment into Action:

Translate priorities from Davos into investable frameworks and regional pathways.

Build Partnerships:

Strengthen public–private collaboration across finance, policy, industry, and civil society.

Showcase Leadership:

Position Asia as a key hub for climate and nature delivery, anchoring long-term impact.

Set the Stage for Scale:

Lay the foundations for upcoming activities in London, New York, COP17 and COP31, ensuring measurable outcomes and coalition momentum.

Tokyo is not just a roundtable—it is the strategic launchpad for WCF’s Asia-Pacific impact.
