About WCF
World Climate Foundation is the world's leading cross-sector platform for the sustainable transition.

The transition to a sustainable economy requires alignment between capital, industry, and government.
We build that alignment.
Through structured Impact Coalitions, we align companies, investors, and policymakers across entire value chains, turning individual commitments into sector-level execution.
We've been doing this since 2010.
HOW WE BEGAN
We’ve been giving business a seat at the UN climate talks since 2010.
In 2009, at COP15 in Copenhagen, the world attempted to bring the global economy into a single climate agreement. Governments and NGOs were in the room.

Business was not.

That gap, between ambition and execution, is why Jens Nielsen founded World Climate Foundation.

"There was a lot of talk about solutions, a lot of talk about finance — but there was no real representation of business, where you typically get the solutions, and the finance sector, where you typically get the investments from.
That led to the creation of the World Climate Summit."
— Jens Nielsen, Founder & CEO
In 2010, alongside COP16 in Cancun, the World Climate Summit was launched. It was backed by Ted Turner and the Mexican President at the time, Felipe Calderon. Years later, we launched The Investment COP, supported by Arnold Schwarzenegger. In 2020, we were formalised as a Foundation.

Now, more than 16 years later, business has a place at COPs and other key events around the globe.

Advancing national climate agendas.
Convening global climate leaders.
Mobilising $130bn for climate investments.

Establishing three global impact networks.
Becoming the most influential global platform dedicated to accelerating action and creating impact.
