You will be part of a team based at WCF to act as Project Manager of the Investment Mobilisation Collaboration Arrangement (IMCA) 2023-2026.


The Role

The project manager will lead WCF’s role as Operating Partner for IMCA, which is being coordinated by WCF in Copenhagen, Denmark. The role involves coordinating a large-scale and highly impactful global project, supporting the mobilisation of climate finance for emerging markets and developing economies. You will be collaborating with public and private sector stakeholders, to engage them in the project and supporting to meet the initiatives high-level objectives and outputs. As the Operating Partner for IMCA, WCF aims to support partner countries and the private sector finance sphere join forces in the creation of blended finance vehicles to invest in climate-related projects in emerging markets. This involves creating shared information on project pipelines, collaboration on calls for proposals on climate financing and an eventual collaboration on calls for proposals on broader thematic areas.


Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the management of a global cross-sectoral project, with tasks including maintaining and updating working project databases and plans, delegating action points across the team and broader partners on the project and keeping an overview on project and budget status for reporting to partners.

  • Create and maintain new global and local partnerships with public and private sector organisations.

  • Conduct outreach to leading global stakeholders from the public and private sectors to engage in the initiative.

  • Manage and coordinate high-level events relating to the project, including announcements, workshops and meetings.

  • Coordinate sub-tasks within the project, covering global information sharing, climate finance vehicle creation (supported by other partners) and outreach for engagement.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in a project management role, managing complex projects

  • Experience with private equity/ asset management and its role in financing the green transition & ESG in general

  • Experience in a Sustainable or Responsible Investment role, including analytics, including exclusions, a variety of climate change metrics, UN SDGs, country risk, blended finance, etc.

  • Previous experience working in climate finance related projects on emerging markets and international development would be considered a strong advantage

  • Excellent communications skills (both written and oral), fluency in English is a requirement

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

  • Well organised, proactive, self-motivated and flexible and have the ability to work independently, but also as part of a larger team.

  • Comfortable coordinating multiple tasks at once, while demonstrating excellent time management and organisational skills in a fast-paced deadline driven team environment.

  • Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Previous experience in event/workshop coordination considered a strong advantage.

  • Passion and interest in more recent developments in finance for nature and biodiversity is a plus
