World Climate Foundation is looking for a marketing professional to lead the effort in growing our membership and community network.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced, proactive, savvy and results-driven marketing specialist to join our international team in a dynamic permanent role based in either Copenhagen or London.

In this role, you will need to be a self-starter and be able to hit the ground running from day one. The ideal candidate should have a proven experience in membership and/or event marketing. The focus of the role will be strategy development and implementation for membership, partnership acquisition and overall community growth, looking for ways to expand new opportunities and develop alternative revenue streams. Driving growth and ensuring outstanding customer experience through product development, promotional techniques and innovative and effective retention strategies.

World Climate Foundation (WCF), headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark, is a dedicated team of specialists working on a global platform to drive action and impact in climate, biodiversity, and health resilience. Over the past decade, we have facilitated large-scale collaborations among governments, businesses, financial institutions, and international organizations, accelerating the transition to a green economy.

Key Responsibilities

This role involves taking responsibility for accessing and engaging relevant audiences, achieving set community growth targets and membership revenue targets.

  • Strategy and implementation: develop and execute membership acquisition and retention marketing strategies and related annual sales plans

  • Active member recruitment: implement and maintain the membership acquisition programme to attract and retain new members, including multi-channel marketing campaigns.

  • Target delivery: meet and exceed set revenue targets and KPIs

  • Product development: development and further improve product offerings, update based on customer feedback and market changes

  • Member engagement: monitor engagement throughout the membership period and coordinate with respective service delivery teams on delivering member engagement activities

  • Member retention: maintain an efficient and effective membership renewal process, coordinate and collect member feedback

  • End-to-end event marketing campaign development and implementation: clearly plan and communicate marketing activities, deadlines and results with the rest of the tea

  • Content creation: deliver high quality communication activities to all members through direct engagement, and overall support on content creation and delivery for member specific newsletters and events

  • Reports and insights: regularly monitor, evaluate and analyse membership and community numbers, provide recommendations based on data-driven insight

  • Community growth: create deep insight of organisation’s audience & visitors worldwide, including identifying gaps and strategies to fill them to attract, grow and nurture our network

  • Collaboration: collaborate with cross-department for project execution

  • Internal marketing systems: implement and manage all activities required for efficient marketing campaign delivery

  • Events Onsite: execute marketing activities at all live and digital events

Key Qualifications

We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-growing, high-energy environment that demands leadership, initiative, resourcefulness, and individual contribution. Your profile shows a confident mix of marketing and sales professional who has worked in a fast-paced multi-task environment.

  • 3+ years proven working experience in B2B digital marketing

  • Proven experience in running marketing campaigns, preferably in a membership organisation

  • Experience of increasing membership or partnership engagement in a similar revenue generating role

  • Experience of delivering successful member recruitment campaigns using multi- channel marketing, including social media, website, and other channels

  • Proven track record in building, maintaining and growing online communities to drive network engagement

  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach.

  • Excellent communicator with CMS and CRM proficiency (e.g., Salesforce, Pardot, Hubspot, etc.)

  • Ability to work cross-functionally and to secure resources and support from colleagues in other departments.

  • Ability to cope under pressure and work in a fast-paced, multi-task, high-performing environment

  • Client and solution-oriented mindset and task approach

  • Strong data analysis and experience in new solution implementation

  • Experience working with website development tools (WordPress, Wix, etc.) highly desired

  • Fluency in English (native or equivalent)

  • Masters or Bachelor's degree in digital marketing, event marketing or a related field

  • Experience in the field of climate change and sustainability would be plus
