A new key biodiversity platform for cross sectoral collaboration
For its inaugural launch, World Biodiversity Summit will help define what world leaders and the private sector in biodiversity and climate action need to do in the medium and long term to achieve sustainable development and hinder further biodiversity loss, focusing on partnerships and investment mechanisms as levers of progress. World Biodiversity Summit is a platform for responding to accelerating biodiversity loss, by using the Paris Agreement as a framework to learn from, promoting relevant solutions, innovations, and leadership networks, strengthening nature restoration and conservation. Nature-based solutions will be highlighted, from specificecosystems to global possibilities.
By establishing the World Climate Foundation as a commercial foundation, our aim is to create an organisation that will have systemic impact on the global transition to a low-carbon and clean economy through two distinct methods:
-
by developing and running environmental impact platforms in line with the Paris Agreement and the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals
-
an international growth engine for new impact enterprises that can help transition businesses and markets in line with environmental stewardship
Turning Commitments into Action
Our mission is to facilitate the transition to a clean and net-zero economy through cross-sector dialogue, inspirational partnerships and investments in sustainable solutions. Our vision is a decade from 2020 to 2030 where climate and sustainability commitments are transformed via actions into impact that align with the required outcomes of the Paris Agreement on Climate Change and the Sustainable Development Goals.

World Climate Foundation is an impact-oriented organisation that works with inspiring leaders from government, business, financial institutions and civil society organisations to build resilience, and enables the necessary transformation that addresses both the climate change, biosecurity and biodiversity crises. Through its collaborative, high-level network the World Climate Foundation identifies and accelerates cross-sector implementation of markets, technologies and policies, at the required scale, to realise change.
This year, on our roadmap to and at COP26 in Glasgow, World Climate Foundation launched several initiatives and hosted successful activities and events on the policies, innovation and investments needed towards a net-zero and nature-positive economy. In line with the Marrakech Partnership for Global Climate Action, World Climate Foundation created impactful platforms for multi-sector stakeholders to build partnerships and strong ambition loops to foster climate and nature innovations and solutions, and further catalysed and presented strong pledges and finance commitments from its partners.
